There are businesses that don’t draw from the past the elements on which to found identity and image. Literature of modern oenology, on the contrary, confirms that many young people have known how to look at themselves, their own origins and own vocation, to transform this cultural ontological heritage in a re-proposition of traditions and culture of wine and its land.
The commitment in research finally gives comforting answers, and the prize deriving from the actions in choices, lies in the frank satisfaction of the consumers and in discovering that from year to year the group of appraisers enlarges.
L'Agriturismo e il territorioThis brief introduction is in synthesis what happened at Agriturismo “La Rossa”. Giorgio Priarone, following the teachings from past generations, since 1981 has gathered the common activities of the entire family, supporting the wine production with the farmhouse accommodation.
L'Agriturismo e il territorioThe farmhouse boasts a warm and intimate setting, surrounded by picturesque countryside and total relaxation. For ecological lovers, you may carry out relaxing walks comforted by Enrico’s instructions, a graduate in Natural Sciences, who will know how to advise families and students on how to discover nature. The vegetable garden, the orchard, the greenhouse and hen house offer fresh produce on which the cuisine is founded, where the hand-made ravioli and guinea-hen reared on a natural feeding diet outstand.
The amphitheatre garden in front of the farmhouse, rebuilt on the foundations of an ancient monastery, makes it particularly suitable for families with children, or who those who want to organize play initiatives or small open-air meetings. But a holiday at La Rossa is recommended also for those who appreciate genuine, good wine and food from the Ovadese territory (Dolcetto d'Ovada, Barbera del Monferrato, Cortese dell'Alto Monferrato).
L'Agriturismo e il territorioLa Rossa involves the entire Priarone family, from the cultivation of the vines to the final transformation into wine, from the breeding of farmyard animals, to the restaurant, and today the accommodation offer increases with comfortable and cosy holiday apartments. Everyone here has precise duties: the kitchen is mamma Ada’s and Enrico’s reign, who also organizes ecologic walks and information on the environment; the vineyard, wine cellar and promotion of the business is entrusted to father Giorgio and Franco.
Characterized by spacious, picturesque landscapes and woodlands that act as frame to the vineyards, the farm is located along the “custera”, the road that acts as a border between four of the most interesting hamlets of the Alto Monferrato territory: Morsasco, Cremolino, Trisobbio and Prasco. The ancient castle in Morsasco is worth visiting, that imposingly lies above the village’s houses, just as the one in Cremolino with its triple circle of walls; striking are those also in the hamlet of Prasco and the castle with its battlemented tower that dominates the hilltop village of Trisobbio.
